At Headwaters, you’ll work on impactful and diverse projects, important to the communities in and around the Gallatin Valley area. You will make use of precision GPS equipment, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, and other flow modeling software to complete infrastructure plans for developments ranging from 5 to 100 lots, subdivision entitlements, commercial & residential site plans, septic systems, waterway restoration projects, pond design & more. Duties may include construction observation, civil design work, subdivision entitlements, engineer estimates, review of shop drawings, drafting, topographic surveying, and construction stakeout on both private and public projects. You’ll grow to be able to take a conceptual sketch through the design phase and into a real, physical part of the built environment.

Prospective candidates should possess a BS or MS in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in development and/or construction engineering, and shall possess the following qualifications:

• 0 – 10 years of experience in the Civil Engineering field
• A willingness to perform general engineering tasks under close supervision,
• A driver's license with a clean driving record,
• A working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, Civil3D
• A service-oriented attitude and ability to work within a team environment,
• Interest in pursuing a career as a Professional Engineer,
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail,
• Ability to interact with staff, engineers, & contractors in a professional, positive manner,
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, swing a hammer and walk several miles per day.

Preferred experience in one or more of the following:

• Local subdivision entitlements
• Public Water & Wastewater design
• Site grading & stormwater design

The salary range is $65,000 - $135,000 for this position, depending on experience and qualifications.
